About

For the record, my name is Bill Anderson, and I have been a geek for over 50 years, since I was in the 6th grade. Built a vacuum tube calculator around 1962. Built my first microcomputer, and IMSAI 8080, in 1973. It was serial number 25, and I still have it. For the past 14 years, I taught seminars on various computer topics. I first started using Linux, with Caldera Linux. If you include UNIX, then we go back to porting UNIX to an Onyx Z8000 in 1978.

Having the newest computer is fun, but not always practical. More than anything, I hate throwing away something that still works. Thus, keeping old machines running with new software became a passion. A passions that says we don’t have to be a victim off the latest fad.
